A brief background:

Andrew Taylor was born in New Zealand and successfully passed NZCE before completing a dual five-year Control Systems Apprenticeship in Electrical Instrumentation at New Zealand's largest Pulp and Paper Mill. Having worked in heavy industry, specifically with DCS and PLC (Distributed Control Systems and Programmable Logic Controller). Andrew firmly believed in control systems and the role they would play in the future of everyday life. He moved to London in December of 1999 and while working in a cross-section of electrical environments, spent the following 18 months attending shows, experimenting with devices as well as different systems and technologies, looking for a system which could transpose the efficiency of industry control into domestic and commercial building control. Then he discovered KNX... Inspired by the possibilities he created A.M.E.T Ltd which was recently re-branded as Eighty A Controls Ltd.
